Verona van de Leur (born December 27, 1985 in Gouda, South Holland, The Netherlands) is one of the most decorated Dutch gymnasts in modern times. She was the Dutch all-around women's champion in 2001, 2002 and 2007. She won a silver medal on the floor exercise in the 2002 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, held in Debrecen, Hungary. She also won a silver medal in the all-around competition in the 2002 European Championships, held in Patras, Greece. Many believed that she should have been awarded the gold medal on the floor exercise at that competition, but through a judging error she was given only a silver medal.That same year, she was chosen Dutch Sportswoman of the Year.
